First Road Trip

Let's start with our first road trip. It was our first date & the plan was to head to Sun Valley for the day but it ended up being a little more adventurous than planned. We started the morning by stopping at the Harley shop in Twin Falls. If you haven't had the opportunity to see the Twin Falls Harley shop you are missing out. It is a beautiful store with a huge selection of everything you can imagine Harley.

We then had to find a place to pick up a cheap pair of sunglasses since this Harley Virgin lost hers on the freeway! Back on the road we found ourselves on the road to Ketchum & looking for shelter from the rain which soon turned into a down pour. We had earlier seen some awesome lighting strike the mountains. While we were in Ketchum, fire engines from all over were flying past to the fire that the lighting had started.

The next stop of the day was in Sun Valley when we had to pull over to the side of the road to clean the Harley from the rain. Now that the rain had stopped we could really enjoy the ride & all of the beautiful scenery surrounding us. Just before Stanley we rode to Red Fish Lake. The water was completely calm & the most breathtaking crystal clear blue you've seen!

After lunch in Stanley our next destination was Challis & rode along the Salmon River. By this time it was obvious to both of us that this day would end with more than a joy ride. We stopped at Willow Creek Summit to look at Mt. Bora, which is the tallest mountain in Idaho (12662). After spending the entire day together innocently teasing & flirting we finally had our first kiss. A moment neither of us will soon forget.

Our next stop was Craters of the Moon. This was an amazing park with incredible lava flows. We hiked (or I should say, Mel hiked & pulled me) up a Cinder Mound. What a gorgeous view we found at the top. Well worth the climb. By this time it was getting late evening & we decided it was time to head home.

When we got back to my house we both agreed that it was such a wonderful day & we enjoyed each others company so much that we planned another Harley trip. To be continued......
